Stanley R. Hoffman, FAICP
Stanley R. Hoffman was the founder and President of Stanley R. Hoffman Associates, Inc. for over forty years. His professional ethics earned him high praise from clients, friends and colleagues. Based on his integrity and dedication, he was well respected throughout many California cities, counties and associated professional organizations. Stan was known for his attention to detail and calm determination within his profession.
Stanley R. Hoffman Associates, Inc. has been based in Los Angeles, California since 1981 and specializes in the areas of urban economics, demographic analysis, land use projections, fiscal and financial studies, annexations, real estate market research and computer based financial modeling. Stan’s fiscal analytical approaches have been used in a multitude of cities throughout California.
Mr. Hoffman’s firm continues to specialize in economic strategy and impact evaluations, fiscal impact studies and market feasibility studies for growth plans, and residential, office, industrial and retail development. These studies have been prepared for cities, counties, redevelopment agencies, other public agencies and developers. The firm has also been involved in several transit oriented development plans and corridors in Southern California.
Stanley R. Hoffman Associates has prepared numerous fiscal and economic impact studies for general and specific plans, annexations studies for communities throughout Southern California, public finance evaluations and implementation strategies, and municipal service reviews. Stan worked with many communities on preparing economic development strategies to revitalize and diversify their local economies, including older, downtown areas.
Stan was known for his thoughtful approach to problem-solving, and a firm believer in extensive outreach with his clients, and community and development stakeholders alike. This ethos continues to form the core working principles of the firm and guides its growth trajectory.
Stan was a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP), and an active member of the American Planning Association (APA) and the California Roundtable, where he contributed to policy debates informing equitable and balanced development. He provided pro-bono support to many communities over the course of his long career through these platforms.
Stan mentored UCLA Urban Planning graduate students and provided paid internships in his company throughout his career, where he also taught Urban Public Finance on a regular basis.
